Back in 2013, a company called Black Arrow Software started talking about their new Minion ASIC chip under development in the BitcoinTalk forum as well as others. They began generating a lot of buzzes. They had some credibility at the time because they were selling hardware made from other mining companies parts.

Did this success lead them into the trap of Hubris???

Then the Bitcoin Community hit the bigtime, media and fame launched the price per BTC over USD 1200. With this skyrocketing exchange rate, new secure technology was going to change the face of international currency exchange and anonymity. People could buy miners, plug them in and in time start printing money. Miners are a needed commodity, requiring Low Power Consumption and high Hash rates.

Enter Black Arrow Software LTD to the rescue. They started out with an ASIC that would be about 60+ GHz per chip when most chips were 1-3GHs per chip, and by December pre-sales were touting 100GHs with overclocking ability at 120Ghs. The power Consumption is going to be awesome as well. They promised all this with a delivery date of Feb 24th, 2014. With that kind of power, an X-1 at the cost of $352 would have had RIO in less than ten days, then be able to continue mining for another 7-9 months. Printing Money was going to be Possible…….. Then the bottom fell out.

Well, up until Jan 18th, their forum rep and their staff that would occasionally respond to a ticket, they were ahead of schedule if not ahead of schedule. That was their story, and they were sticking to it, at least for about another week. Then all of a sudden, things got bleak. They announced that they had not even tapped out on the final ASIC Chip Design. Hmmm… NO Chip Design… That means they have over a month just to have chips produced, not to mention time to package the chip for mounting to a circuit board.

After much screaming from clients, they finally started a forum and promised to deliver weekly updates: Direct Website Updates or Direct Forum Updates

You can follow along with all the upgrade… slowing moving to Next Week, and then again Next Week, and that will be stated Next Week. We should have had shirts made as Black Arrow’s Tag Line should have been changed to “We will do that…..Next Week”

Delivery Dates went from Feb 24th to May 9th to the end of May, to End of May beginning of June. Then to All orders will be shipped by the end of June, until August rolled around and is nearing the end. And we got an update that NOW, they are at only 40% complete on the X-1 shipments. Now all these delays affect all customers, but I only mentioned the X-1…. some customers ordered the X-2 which was about USD 6000, and was supposed to mine at 2.4THs. These guys are in the much worse case then some of the X-1 customers.

BA side- in tickets many people asked for refunds and were told while it was not allowed in the TOS that they would allow it and would return people their money, until they decided they-they have spent all the money and they do not want to get stuck with hardware they can not do anything with except many people asked for refunds, long before ANY device was ordered, produced and as of yet, not delivered.

BA even changed their specs ( adding wifi and touchscreen Android LCD panel), and placed the blame those delays caused on to the customers saying we had demanded. The pole in the forum stated customers wanted fast, power efficient hardware without much concern for noise,

OH, and they are producing with electronics that do not blow up…. I do not know that there are many concerns with hardware built in China… so I guess we should all be pleased the equipment will not blow up.

None of this is made up… it is all factual from the BA forum at eCoin Talk

Please do not take my word alone for anything, but read through the nightmare of an experience all of us have had and make your own educated decision on where you want to risk your money. Because we all did take a knowing risk with BA, and we ALL LOST. Your choice is your own.
